DREXEL (Jeremias). Orbis Phaëthon Hoc est De Universis vitiis linguae. Cologne : Cornelius von Egmondt, 1631. - In-16, red morocco, gilt fillets and roulette on the edges of the boards, framing a second frame of three gilt fillets containing gilt scroll motifs at the corners and a central oval bordered by gilt scrolls, spine with ornate nerves, gilt edges (period binding). Third edition of this book of emblems on the Universal Vices of Language by the Jesuit Father Jeremias Drexel (1581-1638). The original appeared in Munich in 1629. the illustration includes a title-frontispiece and 23 full-page engravings, one for each letter of the alphabet, except for the letters J, U and W. They are inspired, in a nicer way, by the engravings of the 1629 edition. a fully set copy, preserved in its original morocco binding . Cracks at the hinges, a few small stains on the boards, missing links.
