THE FIRST FRENCH CONSTITUTION, ESTABLISHING A CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHY. Beautiful small edition, printed on wove paper by François-Ambroise Didot, known as the elder. It is illustrated with a frontispiece showing the king accepting the Constitution and a folding color map. The work ends with the calendar for the leap year 1792. cracks at the hinge of the first plate, rubbing from use . Joint : - COLLOT-D'HERBOIS (Jean-Marie) . A charming copy in contemporary morocco, with a gilt revolutionary motif (sword and Phrygian cap) on the spine. Some wear to the binding, small scratches on the second plate.
