Funeral oration of very high and powerful lord Michel Le Tellier, knight, chancellor of France. Pronounced in the parish church of Saint Gervais, where he is buried, on January 25, 1686. Paris, Sébastien Mabre-Cramoisy, 1686; In-4 of (1) f. of title, 62 pp, (1) f. of privilege: black half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, untrimmed, gilt head. Binding by Allô. FIRST EDITION. Printed in quarto format, it is decorated with the coat of arms of the chancellor Le Tellier engraved on the title and with two engraved vignettes, at the head and at the foot, by Parosel. Secretary of State for War appointed by Mazarin, father of Louvois, Michel Le Tellier (1603-1685) embodies the figure of the great servant of the state, modernizer of the French army. Beautiful copy, enriched with a large engraved portrait of the chancellor Le Tellier by Larmessin, dated 1662.
