Paris, Léon Vanier, 1893; small square in-8, red half-maroquin with corners, smooth spine decorated with a set of gilt fillets, gilt head, parchment cover printed in red and spine preserved, untrimmed (Semet binding). printed in red and spine preserved, untrimmed (binding by Semet & Plumelle). First edition, printed at 300 copies, on Van Gelder laid paper. It has been printed with the complicity of Romain Rolland who managed to finance the edition without the the shady author. First book of André Suarès (1868-1948). He had most of the copies destroyed, even opposing to the one-act play being staged at the Théâtre de l'OEuvre by Lugné-Poe. Pitting on the parchment cover.
