Two medallions: -Louis-Sextius Jarente de La Bruyère in bust" Medallion after FONTAINE, in brass with bronze patina. Presented in a hanging frame with palmettes. Diameter : 20 cm. Lined with wood on the reverse. 19th century. -Bust of a bishop. Cast iron medallion (missing and repaired). Circled by a wooden frame (missing). Diameter : 18,5 cm. A.B.E. 19th century. Related work : -A similar medallion, Christie's sale, June 28, 2012, lot 134. Biography: Louis-Sextius Jarente de La Bruyère (1706-1788) Bishop of Digne (1747) then of Orléans (1758), he was in charge of the reconstruction of the cathedral of Orléans, he was a very worldly man, close to the Duke of Choiseul. Appointed minister of the leaf of the benefits, he deals with the attributions of the ecclesiastical benefits from 1757 to 1771.
