1972 Triumph TR6

"1972 Triumph TR6 Serial number CF117OU Nice condition An affordable six cylinder French collector's title In 1952, Triumph presented the 20TS prototype that paved the way for the TR2, and all its descendants. The recipe was simple: a small, reliable engine, a slim body as elegant as it was sporty, to be enjoyed with the wind in your hair. In 1969, faced with the melting of its budgets following its dissolution in the British Leyland group, Triumph could not create a car from scratch and took the TR5's bases for its new model. Designed by Karmann, this convertible remains in the vein of the TR4 and TR5 but comes up to date with a virile look hiding traditional technical solutions. If the interior hardly changes compared to the TR4 and TR5, the TR6 nevertheless improves its performance with a rear axle now with independent wheels and a Lucas injection allowing the engine to deliver 150 horsepower. Triumph's main market being the United States, the little roadster was equipped with two Stromberg carburetors in its export versions, reducing the power to 104 horsepower. The TR6 we are offering for sale today is of American origin and fitted with Stromberg 175CDSE carburetors. The rear axle has been replaced with silentblocks, transmitters and clutch receivers. The engine has been completely rebuilt by the previous owner with new paint and hood. The seats are in black leather in very good condition. The car is now in an almost perfect condition, mechanically and aesthetically. The dashboard is in French blue color and has kept its typical British wood inserts. This Triumph has now European bumpers more elegant than the original ones. This beautiful car has been regularly serviced and meticulously maintained. It is therefore ready to take you across France on the most beautiful small roads.
