"1958 MGA COUPE Chassis n° HMD25594 Very nice condition Red leather interior Collector's grey card Since 1945 and the immediate post-war period, the MG T series have marked a whole generation of young people and have been a huge commercial success. Although evolving over the years, the general style started to be out of fashion in the middle of the 50s. The company with the octagon reacted and in 1955 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two MG "barquettes", prototypes with special bodywork designated EX 182, were seen racing. A few months later, these cars were seen again in customer versions: the MGA was born. The name MGA was given to symbolize that it was the first one with a real new line. The design of this car is absolutely magical, it is a racing car on the road. Its style is much more modern than the T-series cars that became antiques overnight. The engine is also a new 1500 with overhead valves and two carburetors which owes nothing to the famous XPAG. In 1956, the range was completed by a sublime closed version, the line of the roof leaving nobody indifferent. Sliding windows and deflectors are part of the doors. The coupe is comfortable and very bright with a large rear window. Only 6.3% of the "left-hand drive" MGAs are coupes. So much for being virtually unobtainable.
