Mechanical movement with key winding, chased and pierced cock with one foot, spiral balance, regulation disc, verge escapement, fusee and chain, signature on the plate "Sebille à Paris". Diam. 58 mm The Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français mentions a watchmaker by the name of André Sebille, p. 590, Tardy, apprentice in 1695, of whom we know only a single hand steel onion watch, in the collections of the Musée d'Orléans and signed "Sebille à Paris" as our example. If we know the watchmaker who made the mechanism of this watch, it is also important to understand who could be the maker of this fully enameled case. Among the great enamellers of the late 17th century, our example is close to the style of Jean Mussard V (1681 - 1751).
