Antoine RABANY (1844-1919), known as Le Zouave Sculpture known as "Barbu-Müller" representing a moustachioed man's head with exorbitant eyes, sculpted in a volcanic rock. Auvergne, Puy-de-Dôme, Chambon-sur-Lac - End of the 19th-beginning of the 20th century. Height 33 - Width 21,5 - Depth 17 cm We thank Mr. Bruno Montpied who formally recognized the authenticity of this work and confirmed that it is the 10th copy identified on photograph in a collection and the 46th copy listed. Cf. the catalog of the exhibition "LES BARBUS-MÜLLER. Their enigmatic sculptor finally revealed!" published by the Barbier-Mueller Museum in Geneva.
