Description

"PERET"; PERE TORRENT (Barcelona, 1945). "Characters". Mixed media on paper. With a fragment of a frame in the upper margin. Measurements: 55 x 50 cm. Pere Torrent is a graphic designer, illustrator, photographer and sculptor, winner of the National Design Award in 1998. He trained at the Massana School in Barcelona and at Josep Pla-Narbona's studio, and in 1967 he opened his own design studio. Between 1970 and 1976 he lived in Paris, where he worked for major advertising agencies as a designer and illustrator. Once back in Spain, in the eighties and nineties he achieved definitive international recognition, and combined his work as a designer and illustrator with sculpture. Peret has also won three Marc Martí poster design awards (2002, 2003 and 2006), several Laus awards and the Silver Award at the Promax Television Festival (1998). He has also shown his graphic and sculptural work in over a hundred group exhibitions and sixteen solo exhibitions in Spain, France, Mexico and Japan.
