DVARAPALA Temple guardian, Terracotta, China TANG dynasty
The statue is made in Terra Cotta (baked at about 850-900 °c) which is of orange - red like color. It is further finished in a colorful pigment painting. These are also baked and therefore stable. A thermoluminescence (fluorescent) analysis was performed on the image.

Het beeld is vervaardigd in Terra Cotta (gebakken op ongeveer 850-900 °c) dat van oranje - rood achtige kleur is. Het is verder afgewerkt in een kleurrijke pigmentenbeschildering. Deze zijn ook gebakken en bijgevolg stabiel. Op het beeld werd een thermoluminescentie (TL) analyse uitgevoerd.
