Japanese Arita bottle vase with silver lid. Edo period. Late 17th century.
Porcelain. Upper edge, lid and thumbgrip in silver (presumably replaced and of later date), partly engraved.
Decorated in underglaze blue with a Chinese water landscape with five figures by the banks, standing and seated.
Lid presumably Dutch craftsmanship (no marks). Looped handle with a hole at the top (lost silver fitting).
