BOULGARIS (Before BULGARI). SILVER SALT BOX in the shape of an izba, the roof opening, a half-open window, side stairs, stylized lawn, signed. 7 x 9 cm. Weight 152 g. In 1884 Sotirio BULGARI, member of a family of Greek goldsmiths, the Boulgaris, emigrated to Italy to settle in Rome and open a store in Via Sistina where he sold silverware and Greek antiques and was at the origin of the famous BULGARI sign.
