RARE FIBULA KNOWN AS "NAVICELLE in gold and granulations. Sanguisuga type, and characterized by a part in the form of a curved arch joining a thin flat rectangular part under which the pin is placed. On the surface of the gold, granulation decoration of geometric and floral motifs. The flat part of the fibula hosts a frieze of ducklings. This fine granulation is characteristic of Etruscan goldsmith's productions. The culmination of this technique, the puviscolo, which means "dust", presents granules that have become microscopic, as can be seen on this piece. L. 9 cm Etruria, 7th - 6th century B.C.
