Description

Kard dagger, probably Ottoman Empire, 18th century Long, single-edged damascus steel blade with curved back, the heel inlaid with gold forming a half-lambrequin decorated with bifid palmettes, the curved guard with cut sides inlaid with gold small carnations. At the beginning of the back of the blade, gold inscription giving a name of owner. Handle with bone ears riveted on gold metallic silk and formerly decorated with stone cabochons. Length : 38 cm Cabochons and element of gilded metal plate missing on the handle cracked in two parts, some traces of rust and wear.
