1980 ALFA ROMEO ALFASUD 1.2 III SERIE

Chassis No. ZAS901D40*05337705 Engine No. AS301.04*0046618 - Owned by the same family until 2018, first registration plate Parma - First registration, double keys and factory booklets - Preserved car, never restored - Low indicated mileage In 1967 IRI decided to promote and begin the development of a small economy but sports car that was to be produced in a new plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, in the province of Naples. The idea was to build a car that was affordable but had roominess and features of a higher-end car. Rudolf Hruska was called in to study this project and he was responsible for the industrialization of this Alfa Romeo. Featuring a spirited and unprecedented boxer engine and equipped with McPherson front suspension, the Alfasud was unveiled by Giuseppe Luraghi at the 1971 Turin Motor Show. Although its initial success was compromised by production errors that left the Alfasud exposed to corrosion, it would remain in production for a full 12 years. Faster and more spacious than its competitors, the Alfasud was the Alfa Romeo of the company's new direction. Difficult to find in absolutely original and preserved condition, the Alfasud is a car that is getting its own collector's response in recent years. This 1.2 3rd series type 901D4 is presented here in fully preserved condition: remaining with first ownership until 2021 and finished in the beautiful combination of Blu Posillipo with Texalfa Cuoio interior. It was purchased in 1980 by a gentleman residing in the province of Parma and subsequently the car remained in the family changing ownership twice. It retains its first Parma license plates, original floor mats from the Alfa Romeo sales dealer from whom it was purchased. It retains its double keys and on-board documentation and is ready for use. In 2018 ownership performed: - Timing belt and water pump replacement - Service belt - Clutch replacement - Rectification of engine heads. In July 2021 it underwent a subsequent thorough general inspection at an Alfa Romeo specialist that involved: - Engine oil change - Replacement of oil filter - Brake oil replacement - New coolant and its reservoir - Changing air and fuel filters - Fuel line change - Change front discs and pads with overhaul of calipers - Change rear pads - New brake lines, master cylinder and reservoir - New electric fan bulb In addition, this car is fitted with new spark plugs, spark plug wires, pins and capacitor, as well as a 50Ah battery. The carburetor has been adjusted as well as the valve clearance. The car then has an overhauled alternator and is fitted with 4 new Kleber Quadraxer tires. A real bargain for enthusiasts looking for a true survivor, offered in almost unique original condition. Usable today as it was then, it is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best Alfasud's on the market to date.
